I know many of us crave a bit more forum activity. I also know, having been an SG for a pbp game, that forum based games take a lot of effort by the SG. I think adding that burden to Yan is unfair and unreleastic if we want to continue our bi-weekly games. So I have some ideas.
Limit forum activity to inter-character interactions. Have another player in the troupe step into the SG role for a limited story.
Council meetings are definitely something that works well in forum, because there's a ton of potential for inter-character discussion, and those set the tone for future story and Yan can mine them for story seeds for later adventures. I think all of us are more than capable of running a limited story for another player. Rules can be minimized or managed, or can be arbitrated amongst the troupe, as they often are.
I think this is an important discussion to have. I crave a bit more from this game in particular, Ars in general, but I can't see myself running a full-on pbp game on the Atlas site for quite some time. What does the troupe think?

I think I can run a one-shot story for a session or two, although I'm not entirely sure of the parameters. (What kinds of stories would we want? What kinds of stories would be off-limits based on Yan's primary arc? What's around Monte Mercurius?) ... Not having a knowledge of the history of the saga could make this a little awkward, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
I'm not sure what you mean by "limit forum activity to inter-character interactions." Are we posting too much to the forum? Or are you looking for more action during our sessions, so asking that we move some of the conversations to the forum? (During the next five or six weeks, I can probably post every day, but by the middle of August, my schedule will tighten up.)

I think one of the big problems with forum based play-by-post activities for Yan is that it requires him to do additional work in developing a story for that very narrow avenue. It's a significant amount of effort, and it can impact the live sessions on Roll20. So, if we can do small stories here, things that won't impact the overall saga arc, or things that Yan would like to have impact the saga, but just doesn't have the time to do and wants to offload those, those are the kinds of things we can do in the forum, that require little to no adjudication from Yan.
So, what I meant by "limit forum activity to inter-character interactions" was focused on using the forum to tell stories. I don't think we're using the forum too much. I do think that it is challenging to run stories both on a forum and also in standard bi-weekly sessions. If we can't do stories, or can't find someone to run stories, then we can get some good inter-character interactions going. Council threads, role-play the 3 season where Thanos does longevity rituals. How do you react when he beats his apprentice? Stuff like that.

I have never done any play-by-post stuff or forum stuff where dice and rolls have to come into play, so it is just new for me. Willing to give it a shot, though.

I think that is what we tried to do shortly after we moved to these foruns, in that format it didnt work. Worth a shot, with someone(or twos or threes) else taking up the SG role. Worth a shot.
